Promotes good development 

Tummy Time is the foundational skill that all babies need to learn in order to progress to more complex skills such as crawling, walking, and running. Tummy time strengthens and stretches muscle simultaneously. 

Prevents developmental delays 

Babies who begin tummy time <3 months old are less likely to have developmental delays towards milestones. Delayed physical milestones are related to delays in other areas such as feeding, language, and fine motor skills (holding bottle or spoon). Babies who start consistent tummy time >4 months old are more likely to struggle with early milestones. 

Tummy time helps the tummy 

Tummy time helps strengthen the abdominal muscles that support digestion. Tummy time can directly help babies suffering from reflux or constipation. Left side lying is another position incorporated in the Tummy Time Toolbox. Left side lying helps with gastric emptying and also reduces reflux.
